A majority of the shareholdings of Dutch shipyard, ICON Yachts, and its related companies, have been acquired by Swiss businessman, Micca Ferrero.
Of his latest venture into the superyacht industry, Ferrero commented, “ICON Yachts is a highly specialised shipyard for yacht conversion and refit projects. It is a great honour to join such a strong team, constantly striving for the Dutch excellence. Our new projects will also shape the future of yachting.”
ICON Yachts is well-known for its conversion projects, such as the 68.2-metre superyacht Ragnar, which was originally built in 2012 as an Icebreaking Multipurpose Support & Supply Vessel and converted by the yard in 2020. ICON Yachts’ facilities are located in Harlingen, the Netherlands, with strategic, uninterrupted access to the North Sea, and include a 150-metre dry dock, a 90-metre floating dock, and 500-metres of mooring space.
